Hike up Bill Hill in Thetford Center:
From Rte. 113 in Thetford Center, take a left on Tucker Hill Road, pass through one-way covered bridge; take an immediate left on the dirt road by river. Additional parking at 348 Tucker Hill Road (brick house on right after bridge).

8:30AM
Two hour hike in Post Mills Nature Natural Area
Hosted by the Thetford Conservation Commission:
Take Rte. 113 into Post Mills. Immediately before the guard rail along the river, pass a big red barn on the right. Turn right at dirt road and sign for natural area.

Also at 8:30 AM: Free breakfast at Thetford Community Center

Bike tune-ups and safety checks in Thetford Center, Post Mills, & East Thetford

Hike/Bike from Thetford Community Center to Thetford Hill Green.

Hike/Bike from 2360 Academy Road in Union Village to Thetford Hill Green (Other morning events tying into Step It Up are encouraged!)

Community Step It Up Gathering on Thetford Hill Green:
Main event featuring entertainment and guest speakers Pat Parenteau, Director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic at Vermont Law School; 7th Grader Jonathan Leitschuh; author Terry Osborne; state Sen. Mark MacDonald; and Kate Duesterberg of Cedar Circle Farm.

Entertainment including live music and dancing. Bring your own picnic or buy lunch from local vendors. Parking at TES, TA & Thetford Congregational Church.

Kid's Activities: There will be games and other activities for young children, teaching in a fun, low-stress way the value of energy conservation. Coloring books, egg hunt, Thetford Hill Valley Quest and other fun activities.

Local Vendor Market: Try out locally made food and products and meet the people who sell them. (Thetford vendors are invited to participate.)

Rain location: In the case of inclement weather, the Local Vendor Market, Kids' Activities, and Community Step it Up Gathering will take place in the First Congregational Church on Thetford Hill.

No formal plan for getting to the Hanover gathering at this point. Car pooling is the most likely option. In the spirit of the day, please consider walking, biking or carpooling to these events. If you are a vendor or otherwise want to support "Step It Up" day, please contact Scot Zens at 785-4012 or zens@dartmouth.edu. Volunteers welcomed!
